Early one morning as the sun was rising in the sky a little weed in Mr Burns vegetable plot was just awakening and very slowly she shook her little head and stretched herself up as far as she could go. Now Mr Parsley one of the vegetables had been watching the little weed and when she unfurled her pure white petals to reveal her pretty little face he fell deeply in love with her but Mr Parsley knew the little weed should not be in the vegetable plot for Mr Burns was a very keen gardener and liked to keep his garden very neat and tidy, it was not often a weed got a chance to grow there and Mr Parsley the vegetable was very worried that the little weed would be pulled out and thrown on the compost heap.
Very soon Mr Burns the gardener came out to inspect the vegetable plot and Mr Parsley was so afraid of losing his little weed he began to tremble so hard he shook the morning dew that sparkled like diamonds in the sunlight all over the little weeds petals which made her look even prettier. Mr Parsley bent over as far as he could and covered little weed with his leaves so that Mr Burns the gardener would not see her and he whispered “don’t be afraid little weed, I will keep you safe”. Little weed looked up shyly and said “thank you Mr Parsley, my name is Daisy”, “I love you little weed and I will look after you as long as we live” said Mr Parsley
All summer Mr Parsley and Daisy lived very happily and poor Mr Burns the gardener could never understand why so many Daisies had taken over his vegetable plot
